About
Hi! I am Iason, a GPU Software Engineer at Arm and an
aspiring indie hacker.
I grew up and studied in Greece, in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki. I studied Electrical and
Computer Engineering at AUTH and in high school, I used to be a competitive swimmer.
In my day job, I work on the Mali GPU driver team at Arm, where I'm mostly doing Windowing System Integration and contributing to Arm's reference Gralloc implementation.
However, in 2022, I became interested in indie hacking. While I enjoy my day job, the idea of building something on my own that could sustain my lifestyle became very appealing. As an embedded software engineer, I lack some of the skills necessary to build a web app from scratch and find customers. So, I decided to take on the challenge and document my indie hacking journey on this website.
Here, you'll find posts on my progress, challenges, and learnings. My goal is to not only build a successful web app but also acquire new skills that I can apply to future projects.
Before my current job, I was part of the initial team of loceye, a startup that aimed to democratize eye tracking.
I built the company's first eye tracker, using a custom CNN architecture and dataset. After being with the team for
almost two years, I decided to leave to pursue my interest in embedded programming.
I then joined a robotic research group in the department I was studying, in the beginning as
part of a student's group which built a version of the pacman game with real robots
and then as an intern. Here is me with a pacman robot.
Outside of work and computer-related things, I enjoy traveling, exercising, and bouldering. Since November 2022, I've been addicted to bouldering, and I'm always up for climbing. If you're ever in Cambridge, feel free to send me an email.
Thanks for stopping by and learning a bit more about me! If you'd like to get in touch or learn more about my projects, please don't hesitate to reach out.
